Mr. Arthur Lewis Cameron age 64 died Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at DeKalb Medical Center.
Mr. Cameron a native of LaGrange, Georgia was the son of the late Fannie Bell and Sam Cameron. At an early age, he confessed Christ and joined Friendship Baptist Church in Gabbettville, Georgia. He earned his education in Troup county Public Schools. He was a graduate of Ethel W. Kight High School, class of 1969. His outstanding athletic skills allowed him to earn a Football scholarship with Albany State University in Albany, Georgia. While attending ASU, Arthur was drafted in the 10th Round to play in the National League with the Buffalo Bills Of Buffalo, New York. He was a lifetime employee of General Motors. He was dedicated to the job.
Survivors include five sons, Christopher (Reehemah) Cameron, Brandon Cameron, Napoleon (Myriah) and Quantravious Cameron all of Albany, Georgia and George Cameron of Sylvester, Georgia; two daughters, LaArta Cameron of Albany, Georgia and Artkelian Stewart of Cordele, Georgia; four brothers, James (Mary) Cameron, Rev. Willie Joe (LaVinia) Cameron and Rev. Melvin Cameron all of Lagrange; and Sammy Cameron of Union City, Georgia; four sisters, Mrs. Lillie Smith of Cannonville, Georgia, Mrs. Lillian (Willie) Robinson of Chicago, Illinois, Mrs. Mattie (Harold) Bankston of LaGrange and Mrs. Ethel Gamboa of Seattle, Washington; 13 grandchildren and several other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services for Arthur Lewis Cameron will be held on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at Bethlehem Baptist Church at 1109 E. 10th Street, West Point, Georgia. Rev. Oliver Cameron will officiate with burial at Meadoway Gardens, 1293 Hamilton Road, LaGrange. The family will receive friends at the home of his sister, Mrs. Lillie Smith at 1154 Cannonville Road, LaGrange.
