Mr. Calvin Tatum passed away Monday.
He was born November 27, 1957 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Tatum, Sr.
He joined Friendship Baptist Church at an early age and joined youth choir. Following into his father's footstep, he became a Deacon and later Deacon Chairman. He served faithfully for many years.
He graduated from Troup High School in 1976. He was a hardworking and dedicated employee at West Point Pepperell-Dunson Mill for 25+ years until closing; and for InterfaceFlor for 11 years.
Calvin loved sports and baseball was his favorite of all. He played with the "Cannonville Bees" and also played and coached the Dunson Mill and Interface softball teams.
Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Tatum; two sons: DeMarkis Rosser and Calvin Tatum, Jr.; special Godmother, Ms. Mildred Rutledge; three sisters: Brenda (Randolph) Hackworth of Atlanta, GA, Linda Hudson (Henry) of Hamilton, GA and Willie Pearl (Curtis) Taylor of Jackson, GA; six brothers: Nathaniel (Gail) Tatum, Terry (Connie) Tatum all of LaGrange, GA; Leroy (Linda) Tatum, Jr. of Bossier, LA; George (Linda) Tatum of LaGrange, GA, Charles Tatum of Atlanta, GA and Morris (Debra) Tatum of LaGrange, GA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday at 1:00 at Friendship Baptist Church, Gabbettville Road. Pastor B. Orr will officiate. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.

My heart is heavy as I learned of the homegoing of "Speedy". He was a gentle soul, one that God blessed us with for a little while. Pray much for the Tatum family. Stay strong in the faith & one day you shall rejoice together with our Heavenly Father!
