Mrs. Yvonne Staples McKibben, 62, of Hogansville, died Saturday, Sept. 6, 2014, at Hospice LaGrange.
Mrs. McKibben was born Sept. 2, 1952, lived in Hogansville most of her life, and was a member of Grace Covenant Worship Center. A 1970 graduate of Hogansville High School, she completed a number of banking courses at Kennesaw State University and the American Institute of Banking. She began her employment at The Citizens Bank of Hogansville in 1976 and was serving as executive vice-president, chief operating officer, and a member of the board of directors at the time of the bank's merger with FLAG Financial Corp.
Survivors include her daughter, Michelle Gregor of Englewood, CO; grandchildren, Emory Ogletree III, Aaron Gregor, Amberleigh Gregor; her mother, Bobbie Tucker Mason of Hogansville; sister, Rhonda and Donald Broach of Grantville; and former husband and best friend, Claude McKibben, Jr. She was preceded in death by her father, William Duane Staples, and son, Corey Allen McKibben.
Funeral services were at 11:00 a.m., this morning, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home. Pastor Alex Montgomery and the Rev. Harry Cain officiated and interment was in Myrtle Hill Cemetery.
