John Baker Obituary
La Jolla John Baker passed away Friday August 12th, 2022 at Scripps Memorial Hospital, in La Jolla, CA. He was 83 years old. His wife Liz, sons Tim and Chris, daughter Susan, and granddaughter Anna were with him. He had struggled with Parkinson's syndrome and dementia that took him from his family bit by bit over the last few years. John and Liz were just six days shy of their 60th wedding anniversary.
John cherished Liz, and together they built a life far beyond their Detroit roots, travelled the world and laid the foundation for a family that's always known unconditional love and support.
He leaves behind his best friend and wife Liz, sons Tim (Elaine) and Chris (Grace), daughter Susan, and his beloved grandchildren Emma, Anna, Jane and Kye. He was preceded in death by his parents, four of his nine siblings, friends, and the dogs that adored him despite his singing and joke reruns.
A Celebration of Life is planned for Monday, October 10th, 2022 at 10 a.m. at St. Brigid Church in Pacific Beach. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Father Joe's Villages is suggested.

You've gone too soon...thanks for the many times you brought joy into the lives of your nieces and nephews. I recall your collection of Christmas music and that you loved to photograph flowers. You cared about many people in your lifetime, taking care of your mother when she was alone those last years of her life. Thanks for being my godfather in that first year of my life.
