Catherine Pekkarinen Obituary

Catherine Ann Pekkarinen, 100, of Waukegan, died December 3, 2016. Catherine was a member of St. Dismas Catholic Church. Her greatest love was her family and holiday get-togethers at her home. As a younger person she drove a school bus for the Waukegan School District where she made many friends, especially the children on her route. She is survived by three of her sons, Michael (Beatrice), Douglas (JoAnne), and Patrick (Annie); 15 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and her sister-in-law Mabel Blaha. She is preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Olaf; her brother Albert "Bud" Blaha and her son Peter (Linda). Visitation 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Peterson & Patch Funeral Home, 408 N. Sheridan Rd., Waukegan. Funeral Mass 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at St. Dismas Catholic Church, 2600 Sunset Ave., Waukegan, IL. Interment Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville, IL.
