Phillip Regas Obituary
He attended Agape Gathering Place church in Waukegan where he was baptized in July 2017. He enjoyed lending his acting skills in skits for the special needs summer camp and young adults' group.
Phil graduated from Waukegan High School in 1997 and was due to complete his associate's degree in paralegal studies at the College of Lake County in May. He was employed as a server at Steven's Steakhouse and Red Lobster Restaurant in Gurnee
Phil had a kind and gentle heart and was a good friend and encourager as well as a pseudo big brother to many. He was an avid Fantasy Football participant and followed the Chicago sports teams, especially the Cubs and Bears. He had a passion for acting and performed in various productions over the years with the Waukegan Community Players, Waukegan Park District and PML Theatre in Antioch.
Phil's memory is cherished by his parents, George and Sheila Regas of Waukegan; his brother, Christopher Regas of Waukegan; his beloved girlfriend, Denise Gulotta of Chicago and many friends and co-workers. He is also survived by his uncle and aunt, Mark and Vicky Melander of Kenosha, WI and several cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank and Lorraine (affectionally called "Nam") Regas and John and Leona Melander; his uncle, Thomas Regas and his uncle and aunt, John and Mary Jane Melander.
A public visitation will be held Tuesday, January 12, 2021 from 3:30 PM to 7:00 PM at The Memorial Chapel of Waukegan, 1521 Washington Street. A private funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 13, 2021 followed by interment at Ascension Cemetery in Libertyville.

Looking for Brother to George Regakis of Pgh.,PA. who Died in 1952. Other brothers were Earnie, Gus, & others in Crete, Greece. I am the son of his Nephew, John R. Regakis "Regas" who is now deceased as of 2004.

I never got to know you Phillip, & I am sorry about that. Your beautiful Mom & I are first cousins, your Grandpa Buddy (John) was a brother to my Mom. You sound like a wonderful man & I know you are going to be terribly missed by your family.
