Robert Rogala Obituary
He was a graduate of Waukegan High School and Lake Forest College, and proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 through 1947 as an aviation radioman. Later, Robert was a flight instructor at the Waukegan Regional Airport, a member of the Stick & Rudder Club of Waukegan, and a member of the American Legion.
Surviving are his former spouse and loyal friend, Patricia Ann Rogala; his children, Cynthia Duffy of AZ, Michael Rogala of FL, Robin Wilding of Mexico, and Jennifer (Jimmy) Peyton of AZ; nine grandchildren; 3 great-grand-children; and his brother, Richard A. (Diane) Rogala of Grayslake.
His aforementioned parents precede him in death.
Interment will be held privately. Arrangements entrusted to STRANG FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM, 410 E. Belvidere Road, Grayslake, IL 60030. (847) 223-8122 or www.strangfuneral.org. Memorial donations to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, 500 N. Dearborn, Ste. #305, Chicago, IL 60610 would be appreciated.

Prior to working at the airport in Waukegan. Bob was the Treasurer at Burgess Vibrocrafters in Grayslake and in his early years he worked forAbbott Laboratories as an Accountant.

I always cherished the fact that you acknowledged and welcomed your first grand-daughter, Jennifer. Unfortunately, in life, certain moments pass and without ill intent we lose sight of family ties. Nevertheless, Jennifer grew up knowing of a grandfather who once lived in Waukegan. How joyous it will be when we all reunite again in God's love and light.

I KNEW YOUR DAD FROM TRANS AIR WHERE WE WERE INSTRUCTORS TOGETHER. WE FLEW HUNDREDS OF HOURS TOGETHER AND ENJOYED MANY GOOD TIMES IN THE AIR.MY PRAYERS ARE WITH HIS FAMILY, HE WILL ALLWAYS BE IN MY MEMORIES.

I will miss bob. He was a great guy and a good instructor. Believe it or not, on one dark and very stormy night on approach to Ohare in the B727, it was raining so hard that I could not see the runway surface. I still remember hearing Bob's words from 30 years before telling me to "just fly it down between the rnway lights". Amazing how a simple lesson like that comes back when the going gets really difficult. Thanks to your dad for all of the great times.

To all of Bob’s children, you have my deepest condolences. I knew your dad through Trans-Air Corp. where he was my instructor. I had many, many great flights with him. He was an impeccable instructor, a pleasure to fly with and I loved his humor. Your dad will be very much missed. All of you are already in my prayers.

To all of Mr. Rogala's children, I express my deepest sympathy. Every memory I have of seeing you all for our one-day-a-year picnic are all so wonderful. I know my parents and my entire family all love your dad. He even took us flying! You and your mom are all in my prayers. I hope the memories of your dad bring you as much happiness as they do me. Bob, we spent our youth (age 16) and early married years together and you fathered 4 wonderful children. I have never met a finer, more honest person in my lifetime.
