Carolyn Chandler Obituary
Visitation will be held at Jacksonville Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at 5:00 - 7:00 pm.
Funeral service will be held at Jacksonville Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Friday, December 2, 2016 at 2:00 pm with Dr. George Thomas Newcomb officiating. A celebration of life will follow at the home of Carolyn's daughter, Casandra (Sandi) Chandler.
Carolyn was born in Tennessee to the late Velma Lorraine (Brooks) and Charles A. Newcomb, Sr. on June 28, 1949.
Carolyn owned and operated several businesses from a cable company, 4-wheel drive center to a tanning salon and then becoming a tax advisor for Jackson Hewitt. Carolyn was known to her friends as "GranMudr".
Carolyn had a special love for English Bulldogs. She enjoyed rescuing and raising her Bulldog babies. Memorial donations may be made in Carolyn's name to www.floridaenglishbulldogrescue.com or checks can be mailed to: FEBR, P. O. Box 754, Odessa, Florida 33556
Carolyn is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Ray Chandler, Meridian, Mississippi; Father-in-law: Herbert Jim Chandler, Meridian, Mississippi; Sister: Janet Lorraine Newcomb Steele, Hot Springs, Arkansas; Sister: Kathryn Louise Newcomb DuBois, MacClenny, Florida; Brother-in-law: Robert I. Steele, Jr., Hot Springs, Arkansas; Sister-in-law: Judith Elaine Chandler Cox, Meridian, Mississippi.
Carolyn is survived by her daughter: Casandra (Sandi) Chandler, and son: James David Chandler; grandchildren: Cassidee Leigh Grice Zook, Tyler Paul Grice and William Austin Chandler; great-grandkids: Jimmy Ray Grice Mathews and Addison Makenzlee Zook; Mother-in-law: Bessie Chandler, Meridian, Mississippi; Brothers: Charles A. Newcomb, Jr. (Linda), Lake City, Florida; William Brooks Newcomb, (Elaine), Lake City, Florida, George Thomas Newcomb (Sheryl), Arlington, Texas; Sisters: Susan Lucille Newcomb Andrews (Richard), Lake Butler, Florida; Patricia Aileen Newcomb May, (Robert), St. Augustine, Florida; Teresa Gail Newcomb Alford, (Robert), Ft. White, Florida; Helen Lela Newcomb Lynn, (Jim), Branford, Florida. Brother-in-law: Randy Chandler, (Cathy), Meridian, Mississippi; Danny Chandler, Meridian, Mississippi; Richard Chandler, (Lana), Meridian, Mississippi. And her grand-dog, Deva; great-grand-dogs: Tank, Jack, Spartacus, Bentley and Max.
