Ivy Goss Obituary

Mr. Ivy Jeff Goss, 78 of Lake City passed away on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at the Lake City Medical Center.  A native and lifelong resident of Lake City, Mr. Goss was a son to the late D.O. and Susie Wood Goss Sr.  He was a graduate of the Columbia High School class of 1951 and veteran of the United States Navy during the Korean War.  Mr. Goss retired in 1980 from Summers Chevrolet as the General Manager and was a member of the First Advent Christian Church of Lake City.  He loved fishing and taking his trips to Biloxi, MS when he was able.  Mr. Goss was a proud father to his three daughters and a proud grandfather to his six grandsons and one granddaughter.  He was preceded in death by three brothers, Pete, Arthur and D.O. Goss, Jr.
Mr. Goss is survived by his wife of fifty two years, Mrs. Louise Goss, Lake City, three daughters, Tammy Oswald, Jacksonville,  Tracy Blandino (Sal), Tallahassee and Teresa Oliver (Ray), Jacksonville and seven grandchildren, Aaron and Connor Oswald, Jacksonville, Olivia and Sal Blandino, Tallahassee and Cameron, Peyton and Trey Oliver, Jacksonville.  His beloved mother in law, Neva Davis, Lake City, one sister in law and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Memorial services for Mr. Goss will be conducted on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with Rev. Howard Thomas officiating.  Visitation with the family will be Friday evening from 5-7:00 PM at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society at 2119 SW 16th St., Gainesville, Fl 32608.  Please sign the guestbook at lakecityreporter.com.  Arrangements are under the direction of GUERRY Funeral Home, 2659 SW Main Blvd., Lake City.  386-752-2414
