Tenney Jane Oberto

Tenney Jane Oberto, 69, loving church going woman, and advocate for the homeless, of Walworth, WI, passed away suddenly October 23rd, 2025.

Born in Boulder Colorado on January 15th, 1956, she graduated from Libertyville High School in Libertyville, Illinois in 1974. She previously lived in Libertyville, Woodstock and Harvard in Illinois, and, for the previous 28 years, had lived at Inspiration Ministries in Walworth Wisconsin.

Her passions included the church (most recently as a member of Christ Episcopal of Delavan, WI), where she regularly read the lesson, and attended bible study. For the last seven years, she's been a member of the Samuel Phoenix Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (Delavan), where she regularly attended meetings, and recently gave a presentation.

Among her biggest hobbies were binge watching classic television shows, traveling to historic sites (having visited sites of 25 of the 45 American Presidents), and a lifelong love of all things Boston. She was a loyal Boston sports fan, always knowing the score of the last Red Sox, Patriots, Bruins, and Celtics games.

Tenney was preceded in death by her parents (Edwin Oberto and Annette Burgess), and is survived by three brothers, Pete (married to Joan Kruse), Leo (married to Kathy), and Joe (married to Kendall), as well as two nephews, Casey and Charles.

Tenney will be remembered for her friendliness to everyone, her amazing memory of facts and figures, her loyalty to family and causes, and her love of a good chicken sandwich and a glass of sweet white wine.
