Nancy Yopp Obituary

Nancy Lou Yopp (nee Lanum) passed away gracefully and peacefully at home on 8/3/2023 after a long and full life. She was born on March 22, 1934 in Chesterland, Ohio and grew up in Libertyville, Illinois as the youngest of five siblings. Nancy graduated from Libertyville High School and went on to attend Beloit College. She and Bill married in 1957 and had three daughters. For Bill's job with Mobil Oil, the family lived in four countries and traveled extensively. Nancy was especially fond of their time in Yokohama, Japan in the late 1960s and London, England in the 1980s. She also had a love for their time in Ossining, New York. After Bill's retirement, the couple road-tripped across the continental United States and then moved to Maui, Hawaii. In total, Nancy traveled to and lived in over thirty countries. In her later years, she and Bill split their time between Wilmington, Vermont and Nokomis, Florida. Everywhere she went, Nancy made friends and developed lasting friendships.

Nancy will be remembered as a loyal friend and loving sister, mother, grandmother, and wife who was a great listener and always gave wise advice. She will also be remembered for her uncanny ability to pick the best recipe from any given cookbook and her inadvertently hilarious Spoonerisms. She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Bill, her daughters, Cindy Fagella (Raymond), Holly Phaneuf, and Kris Boni (Chris), and her grandchildren, Matt Phaneuf, Mackenzie Phaneuf, Ally Boni, Greg Fagella, and Will Boni.

A celebration of Nancy's life will take place in December.
