Nicolaos "Nick" Leousis Jr.

1978 - 2024

Nicolaos (Nick) Leousis Jr. of Gurnee Illinois, passed away from heart and kidney complications on the evening of March 19, 2024. Nick was born on May 20, 1978 to Nicolaos Leousis Sr. & Stephanie Leousis (Jurkovac). Nick was very loved by his entire family. He also established a great circle of friends, many of which he met at his apartment complex or his home away from home – The Waukegan Independence Center. Nick will be missed dearly by all who knew him well, and he will forever be remembered for his unique style and love of ties, and his obsession of wearing a lanyard to carry his keys. Nick is survived by his siblings Donna (Lance) Ortegel, Michelle Bayer (Greg Gallas), Marc Rosenthal, Sean Fox, Marie Cizinauskas-Owen, Ryan (Dawn) Leousis; family that was like sisters Debbie (Jamie) Ostrander, Stacy (John) Vaccarello; several nieces and nephews, extended family, many friends, and his best friend Alex Fokas who was an amazing support to Nick and stood by his side to the very end. Nick is preceded in death by his Mother Stephanie Leousis (Jurkovac), and Brothers Dennis Rosenthal Jr. and Michael Rosenthal. The family will have a celebration of life for Nick on May 25th at 11:00am at Grace Lutheran Church, 6000 Broadway Rd. Richmond, IL 60071 and burial to immediately follow at the Richmond Cemetary located next to the church. The family will also host a luncheon following the burial – location TBD.
