I honestly can't believe what I am reading. Tonio and I were hanging buddies back in the 80's at the Mayflower Hotel. I have tried to keep in touch over the years but this was a busy man and hard to keep current contact info with but I was fortunate to catch him a few times in NY and I am sooo glad I did. Tonio I think of you and the good times often, I am still shocked and saddend that I am saying goodbye to my friend. RIP until we see each other again... Richie Rich

I have just heard about Antonio's death, and was completely shocked. I used to talk to him all the time at work when he'd call up for a movie or two. My condolences to the family.

To the family of my dear long time friend:
Antonio was a bright light on this earth. We were close friends back in DC during the 80's. Had kept in touch infrequentlly over the decades as only true friends can do as our lives changed. I was devasteted to hear of his passing when I tried to let him know I was going to be in NY for a get together. Heaven is better now for his kind spirit and it is a great loss for all of us left behind. Frank Salvatore Charlotte ,NC

My dear Chisholm family, I am so sadened to hear Antonio had passed on. I never got the chance to meet him personally, but his brother Gerard and I are like brother and sister. I still don't know how this happened, but somewhere along the line I have a picture of him sitting with Roberta Flack. And what further happened is that I have several family pictures as my screen savers on my computer--and one of the pictures on my saver is that picture. I really know this was God's doing. So, every day he will be in my thoughts. I feel the pain of losing a loved one. He will be in my thoughts forever. Helen Ayiteyfio and family.

I had the privilege of meeting Antonio in 2005 when he was Concierge at The Lowell in NYC. We became fast friends, kept in touch over the ensuing years and saw eachother each time I visited NY. Antonio, I relished sharing our mutual love of opera and all things cultural. Your sharp wit and humour were a frequent source of sheer delight. What a terrible shock to learn of your passing during my recent visit to NYC. You live on through your family and friends - we love you, we miss you, and we'll celebrate you each day. My heartfelt condolences to your family.

I write this with shock and sadness at the passing of Antonio. I worked with him for many years in New York hotels, where his light and goodness shined brightly in a sometimes superficial environment.

Antonio overflowed with good cheer and enthusiasm. This quality made him excel in the hospitality industry but with him it was clearly genuine. I always looked forward to seeing him and often remarked to others about his specialness.

I'm very sad because I hoped to spend more good times with him. I am praying for his safe and gentle passage, for his family and all his friends and colleagues in this difficult time of loss.

October 21, 2011

I was shocked to hear of Antonio's passing. Though I did not know Antonio very well, I have many fond memories of the times he would come to our office to use the computer, phone and fax for booking travel and working on visa applications for Roberta's tour dates when he was our Road Manager. I was hoping to reconnect with him over dinner in the coming months, to see how he was doing and what he was up to. I am very sad that this cannot happen.

I will remember Antonio for his cheery, witty and sarcastic sense of humor, and for his blunt honesty in the stories and conversations that he shared. I will also remember, quite randomly, that he introduced me to one of my favorite comic book characters, whom Antonio read as a kid -- "Beware The Creeper." Sometimes the random details are the ones we remember most.

I'm glad that I got to know Antonio at the workplace, and I send my deepest sympathy to his friends, family and loved ones.

to my precious brother antonio, i am sitting here missing the times we laughed and how you would makes jokes and have me rolling laughing every day. now i realize god sent you back home temporarily for all of us to have that precious time together and to laugh and be silly like old times. that was truly a blessing from god. to anyone that's in despair and feels like giving up, never give up because god always comes through and will never leave us nor forsake us. i was remembering the time when me and my brothers went to spend the summer with my aunt, cecelia, my mothers sister. she would let us go outside and play alone and she knew i was safe as long as i was with my brothers even though at the time we were only 5, 6 and 7yrs old. she knew how smart they were and they would take care of me. we were by the swimming pool and my brother antonio told me not to go any closer to the pool but i went anyway and a little girl about my age pushed me in the pool and i couldn't swim. no life guards or adults were around and i was in panic. my brother antonio jumped into the pool without hesitation or second thought and got me out of the pool. how a 7 year old did that is still to my amazement. god really created an angel when he created you big brother. i hope you never stop watching over me. i love you dearly and miss you tremendously. you continued to amaze me all the way til the very end, that's one of the many many ways that i am a witness that there is a god!!! thank you so much for everything you ever did for me. i will continue by doing what you would want me to do, just like you told your niece kaylen who is also very intelligent like you, you just told her, to be great and blessed, always be a blessing to others and especially ones less fortunate than her. it was things like that for example, that you and our parents taught us. continue to let your light shine on in heaven. i truly love you more than words can express!

Gerard and family...I was so saddened to hear of Antonio's passing. We spoke months ago and he was his usual jovial self and it was great reconnecting with him. I'm thankful to have met such a well rounded, cultured, and distinguished gentleman. He will truly be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His kind spirit will always be remembered. May God bless his family and friends during this difficult time.

Antonio: true friend, dear brother, courageous heart
Antonio lived by example, a fine young man who always lived better each day. Wise and strong he lived his dream. He taught me to live my dream. A true friend who always made time to listen, meet, laugh, celebrate or deal with life's beauty and challenges. His gift of friendship is a blessing and I thank him.
His passing is sudden. At this time I am reminded of his strength. My sincere prayers go to him, his family and loved ones, especially to his dear mother Betty.
I am fully confident that if anyone can navigate the heavens, Antonio Chisholm can and is. His way is forever bright.

To the Family of Dear Antonio,

I had the pleasure and blessing of knowing Antonio both personally as
well as professionally for many years.
He was a dear friend, ally and brother. He also had a great sense of humor and we shared many laughs in both good times and challenged times.

I am sorry that he has left us on this plane but I know that he will be lifted straight up into yet another 'opulent bubble' of God's love and grace forthwith...
Thank you, Antonio, for being my friend.

You know that Antonio was my heart. I hadn't known him long but he became very special to my heart very fast. He and I had some wonderful talks and I will miss him dearly. There was never a dull moment when I was there with him. He was truly one of a kind. He is gone from my sight but never my heart. I miss you and love you dearly Carlos. To the family, there is no sorrow on earth that heaven can't heal. God bless you all
