To Brian's loving family...I also knew Brian through the Hodgkins Lymphoma forum that he often posted on. His love for his family and team/players always came through in his posts. His forum family is heartbroken to learn of his passing after fighting so hard to try to beat the beast we know as cancer! Brian will always live on in your hearts and his forum family will always remember him.

I didn't know Brian well. He was a member of the HL board I'm a member of. But his passing as with all I've sadly seen over the years have a profound effect on me. His isn't any different. He loved his family SO much. This monster takes the best people from us. But just know he IS on the other side and is watching over everyone of his family.

I am terribly saddened by the loss of Brian and I truly hope for peace for your family. I never had the pleasure of meeting him but in his words, you could tell how much he loved his family and how hard he was fighting. Rest in peace Brian.

To all of The Sampson Family, our hearts are full of sadness. As my husband (Jim Reed) posted earlier "coach was a very inspiring young man". He has made an imprint on every one of the boys that he coached and their parents. It was a true honor to have him teach my son about the hard work and passion that goes into being a football player and young man! I wanted to share a picture that so many of us will always remember of Coach Sampson...always a smile!

Dearest Amy, Emily, Caleb and Mr. and Mrs. Sampson,

I write this with such a heavy heart. I just want to send my heartfelt condolences to you all. I have so many great memories of Lancaster and my time spent coaching with the gentle and jolly giant we affectionately referred to as "Sampy"! What a tremendous legacy you have left us all, Brian! Your works and relationships with all of us were inspiring, as well as entertaining. You brightened all of our lives with your uplifting spirit and humor. You set a tremendous example for all the young people whom you taught and coached, with not only your words of advice and instruction, but especially by the way you led your life with honor and integrity. You were obviously taught well by your wonderful parents; for whom I hurt deeply. Amy, may God lend comfort and great strength to you and your beautiful children through this tough time. We are all so thankful for God's blessing us with such a wonderful son, husband, father, teacher, coach and friend, in Brian Sampson. Your spirit will live in all of us forever. Go Gales! My Best,

Words cannot express the sympathy I feel for you and your families. I had the pleasure of helping coach Brian when he played Pee Wee footbal for Huffer Park. Even then Brian had the drive and determination to be the best he could be...years later I was delighted that Brian was able to coach my son. May God grant you all peace and understanding.

October 25, 2010

We are praying for your family as you continue through this very difficult journey. May the God of all comfort bring you peace.
