Elizabeth Roop Obituary
LOGAN: Elizabeth Jean "Betty" Roop, age 80, of Logan, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at The Pickering House, Lancaster, Ohio.
Born June 25, 1935 in Logan, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Francis and Mary Magdalene (Schrader) Krannitz.
Betty was a member of St. John Catholic Church in Logan, Ohio where she attended adoration and assisted in church cleaning. She worked at Shape-Up Figure and Tanning Salon in Logan, Ohio for several years.
She is survived by one son, Charles "Chuck" (Patricia) Roop Jr. of Logan, Ohio; six daughters, Deb (Ed) Mohler, Cindy (Greg) Schultz, Cathy (Rob) Danison, Mindy (Howie Sheets) Ingram, Lisa Sharb all of Logan, Ohio and Christy (Steve) Shaw of Columbus, Ohio; one brother, James J. (Lola) Krannitz of Logan, Ohio; three sisters, Joan I. Krannitz, Marjorie "Ann" (Ed) Kilbarger both of Logan, Ohio and Dorothy J. (Dale) Olive of Lancaster, Ohio; sisters-in-law, Delores Krannitz of Logan, Ohio and Anna Mary Krannitz of Lancaster, Ohio; ten grandchildren, Daniel and Amy Mohler, Ty Schultz, Dustin and Keely Ingram, Brandi (Jay) Downhour, Colin Roop, Jena and Jordan Sharb, Jessica Danison; five great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Eugene Roop Sr. (2011); one daughter, Dorothy Roop; two grandsons, Joe Roop and Kevin Mohler; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Catherine Agnes and Jay McDaniel Jr., Lucille and Paul Kunkler, Mary Margaret and William Whitla; two brothers, Charles R. Krannitz and John J. Kranniz; brother-in-law, Raymond Kunkler.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11 am, Friday, July 31, 2015 at St. John Catholic Church in Logan, Ohio, with Father William J. Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Logan, Ohio. Friends may call Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Roberts Funeral Home-Logan, Ohio where a Christian Vigil Service will be held at 7:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Betty's name may be made to The Pickering House, 282 Sells Road, Lancaster, Ohio, 43130. Letters of condolence may be left at www.robertsfuneralhomelogan.com
