Jason Colliton Obituary

Jason Leonard Colliton

GIBISONVILLE: Jason Leonard Colliton, 39 of Gibisonville, Ohio went to be with his Lord on Friday, May 29, 2015, after his courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loved ones at the Pickering House in Lancaster, Ohio.

Jason was born January 15, 1976 in Lancaster, Ohio to David Thomas and Aneta (Whitcraft) Colliton.

Jason was a graduate of Logan High School. He was a sweetheart and had a heart of gold through his compassion and kindness, especially his special smile. Many have said that he lived a life to make them proud to know him as a friend or family member. He cared for people with concern with his whole heart. He loved music, cooking, his church family, his family, and many, many friends he made over the years. He was a loving son, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and was special to all others that he touched. Jason was the rock for his mother and father. He loved his niece Alyson and nephew Justice more that words can express. Jason spent a lifetime in the 4-H family with pride as a member, junior leader, advisor, and supporter of 4-H families and friends. He worked many years at Kroger with very special friendships and also worked for the Inn at Fairfield Village where he showed his caring empathy and respect to so many patients and their families who loved him so.

In addition to his parents Jason is survived by his brother, Matthew David (Kelly) Colliton; nephew Justice Matthew David Colliton; niece Alyson Kay Colliton; grandmother, Irene Carr Whitcraft; aunts, Barbara (James) Sunderlin, Mary Colliton, and Beverly Dupler; uncle Gary Graf; cousins, Adam Colliton, Marty Marie Colliton, Donald (Rook) Colliton, Casey Colliton, Cary Colliton, Jeff Thompson, Joyce Hill, Tom Sunderlin, Abigail Graf; and many, many special relatives and friends.

Jason was preceded in death by his grandparents, David Arthur Colliton, Goldie Marie Sealy Colliton, and Leonard C. Whitcraft; uncles, Donald Raymond Colliton and Dean William Colliton; aunt Kristy Whitcraft Graf; and cousin Joe Thompson.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at 11:00 am at Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home Logan, Ohio with Pastor Jack Williams and Pastor John Williams officiating. Burial will be in Laurel Township Cemetery, Hocking County, Ohio. Friends may call Tuesday, June 2, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.

I am so sad to hear of Jason's passing. May you all find comfort in the love and memories you share with him. I feel so blessed to have crossed paths with such an amazing, caring individual. Jason's smile could always light up the room. Jason and all of you will forever hold a special place in my heart. I will think of him every time I have a glass of coca cola on ice and a red Popsicle.
Hugs,
Melissa, RN
