Jean C. Hampshire

MANHEIM, PA: Jean C. Hampshire, 81, of Manheim, PA, passed away at home on Saturday, October 23, 2010.

She was the wife of William Robert Hampshire, and the couple celebrated 59 years of marriage this past August. Born in Lancaster, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Neva (Heister) Campbell. Jean graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University. A homemaker most of her life, she enjoyed playing tennis and was an avid gardener. She and her husband operated Hampshire Orchards, Manheim during their retirement years. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Manheim.

A loving mother and grandmother, she is survived, in addition to her husband; by three children, Michael husband of Denise Hampshire of Murphy, TX, Jennifer wife of Joseph Boyle of Basking Ridge, NJ and Jonathan husband of Jennifer Hampshire of Lancaster, PA; and five grandchildren.

Her brother, Donald Campbell preceded her in death.

A Memorial Service will be held in her honor at St. John's Episcopal Church, 134 North Broad Street, Lancaster, Ohio on Thursday, October 28, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family in Forest Rose Cemetery, Lancaster, Ohio. Friends may visit with the family at the church on Thursday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
