R. Pedigo Obituary

R. Grant Pedigo

AMANDA TWP: R. Grant Pedigo, age 61, of Amanda Township, died Friday, July 12, 2013 at Riverside Hospital in Columbus. Born September 1, 1951 in Athens, Ohio, he was a graduate of Athens High School and Ohio University.

Grant founded his own advertising agency, R.G. Pedigo & Associates in 1984, which is now PPA Graphics in Canal Winchester. He is the CEO of the company, and is co-owner, along with his long-time friend and business partner, Perry Passen, president.

Grant had many interests. His love of music inspired him to start his own sound company, Lighthouse Pro Sound, supplying sound to many music groups and churches throughout the state. He began building custom-made speaker cabinets and formed another company, Prophecy Speaker. Grant dedicated the last 13 years of his life supporting the needs of countless churches in the area with his sound systems. Some of the ministries he helped are Garden Church, Columbus; Eagle Rock Church, Pickerington; 3C, Baltimore; WLRY radio, Rushville; Smith Chapel, Logan; The Rose, Lancaster; and many more too numerous to mention.

He loved golfing, fishing, woodworking, model airplanes, and history. Most of all, he loved his family and serving the Lord.

Survived by his wife of 30 years, Peggy Pedigo; sons, Michael Pedigo, John Pedigo; daughter, Sarah (Bryan) Blanton; grandchildren, Justin, Ashli and Alli Pedigo, Natalie and Brandon Pedigo, and coming into our lives in November, Henry Grant Alan Blanton; daughter-in-law, Mindy Pedigo; mother, Sarah Smith; sister, Catherine (James) Samaripa; step-brothers, Richard and Stuart Smith; step-sister, Elizabeth Smith; nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by father, Roger G. Pedigo; and step-father, Lt. Col. John R. Smith.

Friends may visit 2-4 & 6-9 pm Monday at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 650 W. Waterloo St., Canal Winchester. A memorial service will be held 1 pm Tuesday at Village Chapel United Methodist Church, 30 Circleville Ave., Ashville, with Pastor Doyne Wiggins of Outreach Ministries, Circleville, officiating.

The Pedigo family would like to thank the many friends and loved ones for their outpouring of support and love through this difficult time, and also the caring Neuro ICU nursing staff at Riverside Hospital. A special thank you to Perry and Joan Passen for their support throughout Grant's brief stay at the hospital.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Grant's memory to the Roger Pedigo Memorial Scholarship Fund (Fairfield County Foundation, Lancaster), Motts Military Museum, WLRY radio, The Garden Church, Smith Chapel, or to a charity of your choice.

I had the pleasure of knowing Grant for only a short time. He would visit my music shop and he would leave me with a smile every time. Not too long ago he did sound for a benefit and he was so concerned to make everything just right and it was concert quality, just perfect. Such a nice man, a wonderful human being.

I met Grant in fourth grade at East Elementary School in Athens. I always liked him. I haven't seen him since high school but from what I have read he enjoyed a wonderful life. I am so sorry for your loss. Blessings to all.
