Roger Folz Obituary
LANCASTER: Roger "Pops" Folz, 84, born in Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away on aPRIL 13, 2014 at The Pickering House, having lived a full life in a manner indicative of his values.
Roger, a longtime resident of Lancaster, will be remembered for his unwavering desire to learn, quick wit, lifelong friendships, and the magnificent mustache that he sported for over 60 years. Roger spent his youth attending Roger Bacon High School where the "Harry Hoopsters" originated and later attended the University of Cincinnati, earning BS and MBA degrees. After graduation, Roger held various roles in business, particularly Diamond Power before opening a local family owned clothing store named Jeansville, where he played the roles of accountant, shopkeeper, merchant, and facilities. He also participated in Diamond Unity Management Club, Junior Achievement, Ducks Unlimited, Fairfield Heritage Association, Lancaster Festival, Local Building Sites and Meals on Wheels. Roger enjoyed aimlessly hitting golf balls around the course, swimming with a nose plug, traveling with his wife / family, playing Trickster Bridge with the old guys on Monday, hunting harmless ducks in Ohio and Arkansas, and making questionable but educated investments in the stock market.
He will be deeply missed and never forgotten by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His spirit will live on through our shared stories and laughter.
Roger is survived by his beautiful and loving wife of 65 years BJ (Betty Jean Arnes) who helped teach him love and patience; son Dan (Kris); daughters Beth Anderson (JC) and Mardee Stover (Jerry); grandchildren include Cory Folz (Amy), Michelle Mayes (Matt Stapula), Megan Miller (Drew), Jeri Stover and Dylan Folz. Great grandchildren include Drew Brownfield, Atticus Miller, Lincoln Miller, and Emerson Folz. He was preceded in death by his parents Leo D. Folz and Mary A. Folz; and his sister Margaret M. Lindardt. He is survived by his brother David L. Folz (Ruth) of Springfield Ohio.
A family memorial will be held in the near future and cremation has been carried out following Roger's request.

BJ and family - Roger was one of my favorite bosses at Diamond starting with the Production Control department and then into Product Planning. We had great times and he was always very encouraging. Loved seeing you all at Jeansville. I know he will be missed so hope that the many great memories will support you. Thoughts and prayers with you all.
