Nicholas Baca Obituary

Nicholas Baca, 31, a native of Las Vegas passed away on Friday, March 17, 2017 in Las Vegas.

He was born to Maxine Stella Baca and Nicholas Aguero on Aug. 9, 1985, in Las Vegas.

He was a Catholic and a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Las Vegas.

Nicholas enjoyed mud bugs, fast cars, fishing, listening to music, and he always had a smirk. We all knew and loved him. He loved gambling and he was a Raiders fan. He was a former altar boy at Immaculate Conception Church.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather and grandmother, Antonio "Red" Baca and Sylvia M. Baca; and cousin, Tony Scheller.

He is survived by his mother, Stella Maxine Baca, husband, Wayne Chavez, of Las Vegas; sister, Barbara Lovato and husband, Ramon, of Bernalillo; special friends, Eren and Cari Benavidez and family of Las Vegas; brother, Louis "Hubba" Paderes of Las Vegas; father, Nicholas Aguero of Pueblo, Colo.; sister, Sally Herrera of Las Vegas; nephews and godsons, Vincent Jr., and Dominic; great-aunt, Genoveva Larson of Las Vegas; aunts, Veronica Scheller and husband, Kevin, of Hobbs, Jennie Gonzales of Las Vegas, Mary Ann Diehm and husband, Kris, of Wisconsin; Louisa Montaño and husband, George, of Las Vegas, and Theresa Mares and Louie of Las Vegas; uncle, Gilbert Baca and wife, Yolanda, of Albuquerque; siblings, Esther Aguero and family, Nick Anthony and family, Nicky Aguero and family, Diana Olgaz and family, and Kenneth Aguero and family; godmother, Consuelo Benavidez of Las Vegas; numerous other relatives and many friends.

Rosary services will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday at Immaculate Conception Church in Las Vegas. Funeral services will be conducted at 9 a.m. on Friday also at Immaculate Conception Church with Father George V. Salazar as celebrant.

Interment will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery in Las Vegas with the following serving as casket bearers, Eren Benavidez, Louis "Hubba" Paderes, Ramon Lovato, Steven Quintana, Brian Mondragon and Jonathan Benavidez.
