Patsy Montoya-Baca Obituary
She was born Jan. 4, 1960, in Las Vegas, NM, the daughter of Lily Montoya and the late Tony L. Montoya.
Patsy graduated from West Las Vegas High School in Las Vegas. She retired from the New Mexico Behavioral Health Institute after 25 years. Everyone knew Patsy the last few years from working at Smokey's.
Patsy was a sweet, gentle and kind soul. Her joyful spirit was a blessing to all who knew her. Her smile will remain imprinted in our hearts and continue to light up the lives of those she knew and loved her.
Patsy owned three cow elk. She also enjoyed fishing, camping, feeding all the kittens and puppies.
Patsy never left anyone behind; she always included everyone in her life.
Patsy was preceded in death by her father, Tony L. Montoya; sister, Sarah Montoya Reese, sister-in-law, Cathy Montoya; brother, Sonny Montoya; and brother-in-law, Benny Marquez.
She is survived by her mother, Lily Montoya; loving companion, Felix Ordoñez; son, Anthony "Tonez" Montoya (Marian Jo); three grandchildren, Zakk, Natasha and Dylon; three sisters, Diane Marquez (George), Gina Montoya, Marie Therese Fitzsimmons; three brothers, Benny Gurule, Gerald Montoya and Leon Jon Bonney (Sabrina); numerous, other relatives and many friends.
Special thanks to nurse Amanda and Dolores from Compasses Hospice for assisting our family in caring for Patsy at home as she requested.
Rosary services were held at 7 p.m. on Thursday at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas. Funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. today (Friday), also at Our Lady of Sorrows Church with Father Rob Yaksich as celebrant. Interment will follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Las Vegas with the following serving as casket bearers: Tony Montoya, Felix Ordoñez, George Flores, Dylan Martinez, Gerard Padilla and Natasha Roybal. Honorary bearers will be: Zakk Montoya, Bennie Gurule, Randy Ludi, John Duran and Charlie Anaya.

I am so sorry about Patsy. I worked with her at the State Hospital when it was known as the Las Vegas Medical Center. Patsy was always sweet and very kind. I ran into her, in Santa Fe, about three months ago and she looked good. I am so sorry, I just read the obituary now.
