Jerry A. Mora Jr., passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on January 18, 2026.
He was born on November 21, 1954 in Las Vegas, NM to Jerry and Jenny Mora Sr.
Jerry graduated from West Las Vegas High School in 1973. He was a Firefighter for the Forestry Service. He graduated from Luna Vocational Technical Institute for Automotives and Carpentry. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Jerry enjoyed fishing, camping, and being outdoors.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents; Gregorio and Pablina Mora, maternal grandparents; Amado and Carmelita Gallegos, his father; Jerry Mora Sr. Aunts; Sara Mora, Nash Gonzales, uncle; Benny "Dimes" Gallegos, cousin who raised him; Juan Jaramillo, and many more dear family.
Jerry is survived by his daughter; Mary Tybor (Phil), Jerry leaves behind treasured memories for his grandchildren; Marisha Ruiz, Zech and Amor Tybor. His mother: Jenny Mora, siblings; Juan Mora (Gloria), Julian Mora (Laverne), Alvin Mora (Theresa), Ray Mora (Deborah), Carmen Mora, Joanne Gonzales (Joe), Cruzita Mora. Special cousin who raised him, Cecilia Jaramillo, close cousins; Rosalee Bell (Dale), Pete Jaramillo (Linda), Benito Jaramillo (Angela), Joanne Campbell (David), Hazel Baca (Raymond), Santiago Jaramillo (Anna), Mary Lou Jaramillo, Juan Jaramillo along with countless loving family members and friends.
A Rosary will be recited Sunday February 8, 2026, at Our Lady of Sorrows, 403 Valencia St. Las Vegas, NM at 5:00 p.m. The funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday February 9, at 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Church. Interment will follow at San Jose Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers Zech Tybor, Marisha Ruiz, Juan Mora, Santiago Jaramillo, Ray Mora and Miguel Varela. Honorary pallbearer will be the rest of the family.
