Daniels Family Funeral Services - Southern ChapelRobert “Bobby” Lee Martinez, age 76, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2026, in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. He was born on November 13, 1949, in Las Vegas, New Mexico, to Isidoro and Florinda Martinez.
Robert attended school at West Las Vegas High School and later answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Army. He proudly served as a Specialist Fourth Class (SP4/E4) from 1968 to 1969 during the Vietnam War. For his bravery and dedication, Robert was awarded the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Palms, the National Defense Service Medal, a Bronze Service Star, the Combat Infantry Badge, the Sharpshooter Badge (Rifle), and the Purple Heart.
On October 6, 2006, Robert married the love of his life, Georgiana Lorraine Jaramillo, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Together they shared 20 years of marriage and more than 30 years of love, partnership, and devotion.
Robert was the owner and operator of RLM Construction Co., which he ran successfully for more than 30 years. His strong work ethic, integrity, and willingness to help others were the hallmarks of both his personal and professional life.
A loving husband, devoted father, and proud grandfather, Robert’s presence brought warmth, laughter, and strength to everyone who knew him. He loved his siblings deeply and was always ready to lend a helping hand, no matter the situation. He found peace in the outdoors and especially enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending time in nature. As a veteran, Robert carried his sense of honor and dedication throughout his life.
Robert was preceded in death by his father, Isidoro Martinez; his mother, Florinda Martinez (Jaramillo); his brothers, Ramon, Jerry, and Levi Martinez; and his sisters, Lucy Armijo and Dolores Serrano
He is survived by his beloved wife, Georgiana L. Martinez of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; his children and their spouses, Roberta Stumberg and her husband, Kenny; Rebecca Rice and her husband, Justin, of Las Vegas, New Mexico; Vanessa Lee and her husband, Kevin, of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; and Rachel Martinez-Sheldon and her husband, Trevor, of Henderson, Nevada; five cherished grandchildren, Cody, Alexis, Ryan, Jacob, and Reyanna; and one great-grandchild, Jaelynn Stumberg.
A Celebration of Life will be held on February 20, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Daniels Family Funeral Service – Southern Chapel, 2400 Southern Blvd. SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124, followed by a reception at 5 PM at Rio Rancho Elks Lodge #2500, 1530 Barbara Loop SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124.
