Akira Suzuki Obituary

Suzuki, Akira "Aki", 95 year old Nisei, born in San Gabriel, passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2015. He was interned in Heart Mountain during the war. Aki worked for the Dept. of Water and Power in Los Angeles as a mechanical engineer for over 30 years. He received an honorary degree from UC Berkeley in 2009. Aki recently lost his wife Martha of 65 years in December of 2014, both devout members of All Peoples Christian Church. He was predeceased by his two brothers, Satoshi "Sugar" and Takashi "Tak" Suzuki. He is survived by his daughters Gail Suzuki-Francis (Cliff) of Hood River OR and Beverly Suzuki-Lopez (Adrian) of Los Angeles CA; sisters-in-law Kaoru Suzuki of La Habra, CA, Ellen Suzuki of LA, CA, Taye Hashiguchi of San Diego, CA, Yuri Fukuda of Orange, CA and Katherine (Nelson) Graburn of Berkeley, CA.
