Anita Cline Obituary

Cline, Anita Alberts
Anita Alberts Cline, founder and chairman of The Leading Entrepreneurs of the World, and The Star Group, passed away September 28th from lung cancer, at age 58; at home in Los Angeles, Calif. Daughter of prominent society photographer, Sergis Alberts, and Ruth Laura Cathey, she graduated from Beverly Hills High School and Mills College. She became the yougest fashion editor at Mademoiselle magazine, before pursuing a career in acting. She was an active member of The Screen Actors Guild for over 30 years. She appeared in numerous movies and television series before joining Jay Bernstein Public Relations. She handled the Miss America Junior Pageant and a World's Fair. She later founded her own PR company, with Jay Bernstein as her first client. As a spokesperson for the Carnation Company, she traveled across the nation talking to and about women's issues. She later became a consultant and fund raiser for NAWBO, the National Association for Women Business Owners. As the CEO of The Leading Women Entrepreneurs, she developed a world famous event held in major capitals honoring 40 women each year from around the world. She leaves her husband, Wayne Cline, and her sister, Andrea Alberts, of New York City. A memorial service will be held at Pierce Brothers Westwood Village Memorial Park and Mortuary, Saturday, October 5, at 11 A.M. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Feed the Children, the official charity of The Leading Women, in her name, to help set up a hospital for abandoned babies in South Africa.
