Ann Willens Obituary

February 12, 1954 - March 1, 2018 After a long, courageous and quiet battle with heart disease and diabetes, Ann JaCoby Willens, 63, died peacefully on March 1, 2018 at her home in Rancho Palos Verdes. Ann was born in San Diego to Marjorie and Alfred JaCoby. Ann's early childhood was chronicled in her father's weekly column in the San Diego Union. Ann attended Francis Parker School and later graduated from UCLA with a B.A. degree. Ann's lifetime in public service included staff and campaign positions for members of the Los Angeles, West Hollywood and Beverly Hills City Councils. In 1997 Ann shifted the focus of her public service from political to charitable non-profit and was the Administrative Director of the Palos Verdes Art Center for 18 years. Ann is survived by her husband of 40 years, Dan Willens; son, Alex Willens and wife Jess; son, Matt Willens; mother-in-law, Rita Willens, loving family and good friends. Ann's life was too short, but it was very well lived. Her love will remain in our hearts forever while her presence will be missed. A Celebration of Ann's Life will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Sunday, March 25, 2018 at the Palos Verdes Art Center, 5504 West Crestridge Road, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Palos Verdes Art Center, Ann Willens Memorial Fund or Providence Little Company of Mary Hospital.

I was a childhood friend of Annie´s from La Mesa. Spent many a weekend in San Diego with her. Was in her Girl Scouts or Brownies troup that her Mom was leader of. Loved Annie very much! I have some pictures I would be happy to share with family if I was able to get contact info.

I attended Parker with Ann for many years...I was a "lifer".We shared fun times together and always tried to compete in Spanish class with Mrs. Fisher. Those were great times and yes I did look up my year book and sure enough was a heart felt message since I was a senior and she was a junior and off to BYU. May Heavenly Father bring your family much comfort in knowing she is home now...thinking of her brought a smile upon my heart...she was joy.....Sammy Gross class of 71
