Archie, I am so saddened that you are gone. I always admired you and Jennie.I will always carry your friendship in my heart. For years I "meant" to look you up and say, "Hello," now I will have to wait until I get to the other side. My prayers go out to your family; they must be extraordinary to have you for a husband and father. God bless them all. Donna Van Horn Bluejacket

Archie was a great guy and he loved USC. I remember once in his office with my daughter Kasey. She was on the USC soccer team. She gave him a "signed" picture of her and he treated us as family and couldn't wait to find a place on his wall to put it. I just loved talking with him. I'll miss him a lot and I know his family, friends, and employees will too.
Sincerely, Jeff from Basic Fibres.

I graduated from RUHS in 1952 with Archie. Another classmate, Joan Blaine Rutherford, sent me these memories she had of Archie. She also included school pictures of Archie. The kindergarten picture is a gem. Contact me at ruhs1952@verizon and I will forward them to you. Here are her thoughts of Archie:
Apologies for being late in responding to the passing of Archie We have
been out of town and recently returned......I am very saddened indeed.
Archie and I started our public school time together at Grant Elementary
school in North Redondo.from K - 6th grade and this never changed.....we
went on to Highland Junior High School and eventually RUHS and graduated in
the class of '52......and I have very fond memories of him. In elementary
school we both were very good spellers and this was the era of spelling Bee
teams. I remember being the captain of one team and Archie the other
team..... so we were rival......I just always remember him as being part of
my life..........However in high school we had very different friends and
our relationship was much different, but was always positive.
Interesting little side light.....Archie leased my sister's home in Encino
for awhile......it was long after I moved away from California.. Such a
small world....
By chance if you have any further information about Archie.....I would
enjoying knowing.....I think he was a very decent and good person....
attached pic: 7th grade... Archie is .top row second from left (I am not
in the pic, probably home with a bad cold)
8th grade....Archie holding the "School Name...I am in the second row third
from the right with the frizzy hair.
Grant School: Kindergarten....Archie first boy sitting down on the
right......I am behind him standing with the teacher....check out the date
1939... ...YEOWEE
