Audrey Pauly Obituary

January 24, 1928 - January 26, 2021 Just after her 93rd birthday Audrey left to be with her soulmate, Eddie. Her family feels there is a large hole in their universe as Audrey was the love, warmth, beauty (inside and out) loyalty, and cheerleader that we all were accustomed to and aspire to carry on. G1 kids, Randy (Karen), Diana (John Toothman), and Drew (Susan), G2 grandkids, Sarah (Joey), Rebecca (John), Scott (Kaila), Emma, Amanda, and Ethan, G3 great grandkids, Noah, Leo and Beau, are all members of a far flung Team Audrey that were each encouraged, supported, adored and cheered through their lives and achievements big or small. Audrey and Ed were the role models for all of our relationships.Things to note about Audrey:• Skipped two grades and started UCLA at 16, where she joined a Jewish sorority and met the love of her life Ed Pauly-- they went on to build businesses and our family.• Competitive bridge player- loved playing tournaments and racked up points. She also never let us win at any game. We had to earn it, something that her example only encouraged. • Voracious reader, enthusiastic movie-goer; loved eating out at restaurants and travel, all of which she encouraged for her family.• Huge fan of LA sports teams--Bruins, Dodgers, and Lakers- but most of all was the biggest fan of her grandchildrens' various little leagues, performances and report cards.• Loving, doting and generous daughter, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, grandmother-in-law, and great-grandmother, giving 110% and then some. Audrey loved nothing more than when the whole Randy Pauly clan invaded from all over the world and the USA to camp out at her home.• Loved Nate'n Al's lox and bagel brunches with family on the weekends.• Excellent driver and knew side streets like the back of her hand. She was Waze before there were ever computers-she could calculate arrival times within the half-minute mark, and 'six and a half minutes' meant six and a half minutes.• Audrey had an A+ sense of humor and an incisive wit. Most of us inherited that and are glad we did. That legacy is here to stay-like it or not.The family will plan a celebration of Audrey's life later this year when we can all safely gather and hug. If you want to donate in Audrey's memory, we suggest Meals on Wheels or any non-profit that is important to you.
