In 1940 my playmates were Donna Vaughn and Carla Langert. We were neighbors on Dyer St. in Dallas, Texas. I think we likely attended the same nursery school, as I recognize my own costume and Donna's from that sourse and would guess Carla's was from there as well. Donna and I were 5 and Carla 4 in this photo. I'm almost 88, having lived in Portland, Oregon for 59 years. My wife Ellen was sorting old photos and found the attached among those left by my mother. The search engine brought me to this point. I wish I'd had this opportunity in time to re-connect with her. All best to her children, grandchildren, and .... .

It is hard to think that this much time has passed. Carla never forgot the staff and our gifts at the holidays were always exactly what we needed. She had a way about her that you knew in an instant whether you were in favor or not. I worked for Dr. Klein for 17 years and she never failed to be there with advise or a dinner. She has been missed by all especially her girls. May God rest her soul.
