David John Zeitlin

May 30, 1932 - November 14, 2014 David John Zeitlin, well known guitarist and teacher at UCLA and McCabe's Guitar shop in West Los Angeles for 41 years, died at his Northern California home, surrounded by loving family. He was 82 years old. David was born in Los Angeles, the only son of Gina Weyl and Jake Zeitlin. He is survived by his wife Vicki (Vaughn), their son, Ben, their two daughters, Gabrielle and Susanna, siblings Joel Zeitlin and Adriana Kaplan and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister Judy Armstrong and step mother Josephine Ver Brugge Zeitlin. We will all remember, hold dear and miss David's wonderful musical talent, active mind and warm generous spirit. He had been working on a novel and a book about guitar playing. His interests included photography, astronomy, flying, reading and many things clever and sly. David was also a co-creator of several well loved children's albums.
