Robillard, Dixie Bonham Larsen
September 25, 1943 - March 10, 2009
Dixie Bonham Larsen. Robillard, loving wife and mother, passed away in her home in The Bywater, New Orleans of cancer.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ray and Vicki Bonham of California City, CA, her brother Jerry Bonham in San Diego, and ex-husband Robert G. Larsen of Boston, MA. Survived by her husband Michael Robillard of New Orleans, her son Mark Larsen of Skagway, Alaska, and too many loving friends and relatives to list.
Born in Lodi, CA. Dixie was raised in La Jolla, and San Diego. She traveled extensively as a stewardess before moving to Los Angeles and getting married to her first husband, Robert, and giving birth to her son, Mark, in 1967. Dixie was a self-taught photographer, known in Hollywood circles as having a rare talent for capturing the soul of her subject on film. Art was always a fixture in her life as was immediately apparent walking into her home. Upon moving to New Orleans with her second husband, Michael, in 1987, she became involved in local politics. She served as the president of her neighborhood association, and was active in the restoration of New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina. She took great pride in watching her neighborhood flourish. Dixie was loved by all who were blessed to know her, and will be sorely missed.
Her husband and son would like to invite all to a attend a celebration of her life at Rayne Methodist Church, New Orleans, LA at 2pm on Friday, March 20th, 2009.
Another celebration will be held in Ventura, CA, November or December, 2009; 907-612-6000 for details. Floral donations for the services may be made through Federico's Florist (504-837-6400). Charitable donations in her name may be made to: The Special Olympics or Habitat for Humanity Gulf Recovery Project.

Dixie-Pixie, you have been my best friend for over 30 years. In my mind you are still here. I miss you and all the fun we had and times we shared in our lives.
