After re-reading the L A Times Obit, heard that Don was going into the office a few days a week
also board meetings well into his 90's. Similar to Kirk Kerkorian !

I heard of Mr. Don Colich's passing a few days ago and while I was only an employee of his I feel like I lost a friend. I first met Mr. Colich in 1984 when I was looking for a job as an Operator. A friend told me to go to the yard in Gardena. When I got there in the morning the yard was full of employees. Not knowing anybody I was standing by myself when I saw this smiling man walking around and greeting some of the guys there. When he saw me standing alone he came toward me and before I could say anything he stuck his hand out and said Hi I'm Don Colich I don't think I have met you. From the moment on when ever I saw Mr. Colich ( I worked for the company for16 years) he made me feel like friend. He was a true gentleman. May you rest in Peace

This goes back to the late 40's, my Dad Andy was in the same business as Don, Micky & Pete Wucetich in Inglewood. My brother & I grew up with Don's Nephew Donnie Wucetich, Inglewood Hi '56-'58. A lot of memories along the way from the families & colony. Condolences from the extended Bulaich Family.

Just found today that Mr. Colich went to Heaven. He was and is a great person whom I met when attending USC with his sons Tom and John. I was a young kid from Northern California when attending USC and he treated me like a son. Those steaks at his house were unbelievable and enjoyed playing ping pong with him. Learned a lot just talking to him in those younger years. Use to say I'll be back in 4 minutes to run a mile when working out at the Inglewood YMCA. Yeah, Don I hope to see you again one day when we both will run the miracle 4 minute mile!! May you Rest In Peace
