Douglas C. "Rick" Cluchey

1933 - 2015

December 5, 1933 - December 28, 2015 Douglas Cluchey, known to all his family, friends and fans, as "Rick." Renowned actor, director, playwright. A powerhouse, true force of nature, and long time Samuel Beckett collaborator. He is survived by his loving wife, Nora Masterson, sons Rick Jr, Louis Beckett, Jameson Alan, and daughter Maya Suzanne. In the Chicago area, survivors include sisters Lynne Rinck and June O'Connor, and six nieces, nephews, and grandnephews and nieces. He was a grand touchstone to all, a valued perspective, a noble, wise and loving voice. He was always kind and thoughtful in helping others carry on the legacy of Samuel Beckett, he had a knockabout wit, blazing talent, and clarity of love for family and friends. He fought the good fight, and finished the last round surrounded by family at St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica, CA. Celebration of Life will be held on Jan. 18th, 11am, at St. Paul the Apostle Church, 10750 Ohio Ave., LA, 90024. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jameson Cluchey Educational Fund.
