Duane Cody Obituary

December 4, 1942 - November 2, 2025 Duane Bruce Cody, a lifelong Angeleno, devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on Nov. 2, 2025, at the age of 82.
Born on Dec. 4, 1942, in Los Angeles, California, Duane grew up with a love for the outdoors and a deep appreciation for his hometown. He graduated from Notre Dame Academy, Chaminade College Preparatory and went on to earn his degree from Loyola University of Los Angeles (now Loyola Marymount University).
For more than 40 years, Duane built a distinguished career as a commercial real estate broker in Los Angeles, earning the respect of colleagues and clients alike for his professionalism, integrity, and dedication, most recently working with Realty Advisory Group and previously with Cushman & Wakefield.
Outside of his career, Duane found his greatest joy in nature and family. He was an avid fisherman and fowler who cherished early mornings on the water and the camaraderie of his friends and loved ones during those adventures, especially at Cazador Duck Club. His warmth, wit, and quiet strength made him the heart of his family.
Duane is survived by his beloved wife, Jane Ellen Cody (née Egan); his two daughters, Christin Ann O'Brien (née Cody) and her husband Dennis O'Brien, and Jennifer Catherine Cody; and his cherished grandchildren, Brendan Patrick O'Brien and Catherine Teresa O'Brien.
A celebration of Duane's life will be on Nov. 17 at 11 am at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City, California. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Volunteer League of the San Fernando Valley, a cause close to Duane and Jane.
He will be remembered always for his steadfast love, gentle humor, and enduring spirit.
