Ed Killingsworth leaves behind a wonderful architectural legacy, not the least of which was his support and encouragement of younger architects. He will be missed by all of us who benefited from his generous friendship.

I worked for Mr. Killingsworth and would like to say that, I cherish all the memories from the office and I will never forget them, whether it would be to hurry and vacuum the office or hurry to get the news paper from the stepping stones over the reflective pool before he got there. I was very fortunate to have met Mr. K (he liked to be called Mr.K)and only wish I had known him longer.

I just learned from a friend of the news Ed passed on. I am very sorry to hear. Ed and his group enriched my life in many ways.
It has been over 42 years since I worked for Ed at the Long Beach Office. My position was minor but tremendously rewarding. My two years with KB was cut short due to serving in Vietnam. Regardless of the short time, the quality of time spent at KB & Asso. was one of those life experiences one does not soon forget.
An amazing coincidence occured many years after serving in VN. While serving, I worked under a CEC officer, he was an architect. We often spoke of architecture while performing routine designs for sundry facilities in and around DaNang. Often while exchanging ideas I would refer to a wonderful architectural firm in Long Beach I was employed with. We would exchange photos of the Kahala Hotel and a few case-study homes Ed designed. I left the war in 1968.
Thirty years passed before I returned to KB & Asso. just to stop by and say hello to Ed and others. To my surprise the first fello to see me at the door was the architect I worked with in V.N., Ron Lindgren.
Thank you Ed and others for the wonderful opportunity of enriching me with an appreciation for architecture, design, balance, form, space, texture etc. Qualities I use to this day in my business. Goodbye Ed and God Bless.
Bob Sciotto.
