Elaine Louise Fond

1921 - 2016

June 4, 1921 - July 20, 2016 Elaine Louise Fond was born on June 4, 1921, to the late Morris and Minnie Guterman. She passed away peacefully on July 20, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. Elaine was born in Los Angeles. She attended Fairfax High School and then USC. In 1940, she married her only true love, Bernard Sydney Fond (deceased 1993). They had a magical marriage that lasted 52 years. She is survived by her son Loren (Diane) Fond, her daughter, Barbara (Richard) Ackerman, her grandchildren Stephanie (Jeff) Berk, Melissa (Tony) Croll, Lisa (Rob) Stone, Ondrea (Michael) Harr and Zachary Fond, and her sister-in-law Harriet (Robert) Guterman. She also leaves her loving great-grandchildren Emily, Alden, Curtis, Francesca, Cali and Hudson, as well as her many nephews and nieces. Elaine was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, and was a warm, caring person. She loved entertaining at home and celebrating family holidays, where everyone always felt welcome. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed. The family would like to thank Dr. William Pullen for his many years of exceptional and very personal care, and a warm thank you to our dedicated caregivers, Leila, Joy and Tess for their devotion to our mother. Services will be held at 11:00 am, on Friday, July 22, 2016, at Hillside Memorial Park, 6001 W. Centinela Ave., Los Angeles, CA (800) 576-1994. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity of their choice.
