December 5, 1941 - January 13, 2021 Elaine Kathleen Malouf entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, January 13, 2021. Her strong faith and closeness to the Lord gave her strength to fight even when the odds were against her, but this time He was ready for her to enter into His glory. Elaine enriched our lives with love and joy. She gave unconditionally and touched the lives of anyone who came into contact with her. Many would often refer to her as their angel, given she always showed up when she knew a person needed help. It was her pleasure to deliver communion, baked goods, or simple words of encouragement. She expended great and loving energy in going out of her way to take care of many. Elaine was born in Santa Monica to Charles and Mary Bailey. She was a graduate of Marymount High School and received her degree in Education from Marymount University. She later went on to receive her Master's degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from Trinity College. Teaching school was a natural fit for Elaine; she taught at Walgrove Elementary and left teaching for her most important job, motherhood. She was a dedicated mother to her three children Michelle, Melinda and Morgan. Elaine was a member of ARCS, STARS, and a parishioner at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church. She was active with multiple bridge groups and was known among those groups as a very advanced player. One of her passions was cooking, and she was part of her cooking group for over 30 years. She loved returning home and sharing the recipes she had learned with everyone. Family and friends were fortunate to enjoy many meals made with her love. Most importantly, Elaine prayed. She petitioned on behalf of many even when they had no clue. Her prayers were answered many times and these were joyful moments. While Elaine leaves all of us behind, remembering her kindness, kindred spirit, and sparkly blue eyes, the lessons she taught us keep her alive within each of us. She is survived by her children, Michelle Malouf, Melinda Turner and husband Ron; Morgan Malouf and wife Sandra; two grandchildren Matthew Malouf and Mason Turner; her adoring sister, Joan Burns and husband Allan; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by the father of her children, Gary Malouf. Elaine was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Mary Bailey and her sister Maureen Hagen. A private funeral service to respect Los Angeles County COVID restrictions will be held at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, Los Angeles, CA, at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January, 25, 2021. Flowers can be sent to St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 11967 Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90049.
