Eric Arthur Ashton

February 24, 1931 - September 6, 2020 Ashton, Eric Arthur age 89 of La Canada Flintridge peacefully passed away at his home on September 6, 2020. He was born to Eric and Violet Ashton on February 24, 1931 in New York City, New York. Eric and his family relocated to Los Angeles when he was 5 years old where he was raised in Highland Park. He married Gloria Joanne Ashton in 1964, and they raised their family in Glendale and then La Canada. He is survived by his three sons: Eric Andrew, Edward, Charles and his wife, Leigh-Anne and his two grandchildren Addison (Charles) and Erin (Eric). He is preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Joanne Ashton, who passed in January. Eric received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from USC in 1953. After working as an accountant, he decided to attend law school. Eric graduated from USC Law School in 1958 and started practicing law in 1959 at Edwards & Edwards in Glendale. It soon became Edwards, Edwards & Ashton and later Edwards, Ashton & Gin. Eric's practice focused primarily on estate planning and probate. He was a member of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and the International Academy of Estate and Trust Law.Eric served on the boards of many business and charitable organizations in the City of Glendale, most notably the Salvation Army, the Glendale Bar Association, and the Community Foundation of the Verdugo's.In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Glendale Salvation Army or the Community Foundation of the Verdugo's would be appreciated.His burial is private at Forest Lawn Glendale.
