I knew Eric when we both acted in "The Common Glory " in Williamsburg-- for two glorious summers, and then in NYC where we were both aspiring actors. We were great friends! Erik created a "chi-chi" drink out of "Sly Fox" wine-- the absolute cheapest on the market! He mixed it with ginger ale, and named it a "Cary Grant" in honor of the most graceful, elegant actor he knew! Erik had that transformative magic! That was his gift. I'm happy he was surrounded by love. That's surely what he deserved. Rest in Peace, Erik! Judith Walsh White, Chevy Chase MD

My condolences to all of Erik's current friends. I have fond memories from William & Mary in the early 1960's, and especially of Erik's performance in "Diary of Anne Frank."

So sorry to see his warm familiar picture (LA Times) & realize I never got to meet him in S CA. We were classmates & in Backdrop Club at William & Mary many decades ago. Much sympathy to his many local friends. Prayers.

I knew Erik when he lived in NYC. He added so much joy and humor to my life. He taught me to take appropriate risks, ones that have helped me throughout my life. Thank you, Erik. I know you are the brightest star in heaven!

Erik Howell was a good friend who I've known for many years. He was a warm person who enjoyed movies, plays and tennis! He also enjoyed good food and having his friends over for dinner and drinks (especially a Negroni - Campari and Vodka). He especially enjoyed us to come over for the Golden Globes, Oscars, Tonys, Emmys and Grammys. I am sure going to miss his smiling face.
