Evon Gotlieb

Gotlieb, Evon G August 3, 1931 - March 10, 2012 Evon G. Gotlieb passed away on March 10, 2012. She was born in Des Moines, Iowa in 1931. She graduated from UCLA in 1953, cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa and married the love of her life, Jerry M. Gotlieb, the same year. Evon and Jerry had three children, Jeff, Lori, and Heidi. While raising her children, Evon set her sights on making a difference in the world. Over the years, she was active in numerous civic organizations and served on many commissions and boards, including the United Way, Los Angeles Urban League, Town Hall of Los Angeles, the Children's Bureau of Southern California, Hebrew Union College's School of Jewish Nonprofit Management, Wilshire Boulevard Temple, and Aviva Family and Children's Services. Evon was particularly committed to the League of Women Voters of Los Angeles which she joined in 1966, served as its president, and chaired a number of its committees. Evon also had a career in public relations, working primarily with Braun and Company. She did meaningful work that she loved, with people she admired and she, in turn, was loved and respected by all those she touched. Evon is survived by her husband, Jerry, children Jeff, Lori and Heidi, son-in-law Robert, and granddaughters, Kelsey, Kendra and Moriah. She is dearly beloved and will be missed by all who knew her. Funeral services will be held at Hillside Memorial Park, 800-576-1994, March 18th at 1:00 p.m. Guests will be received at the family home following the service.
