Frank Abramoff Obituary

April 6, 1927 - June 25, 2018 Frank Abramoff, born April 6, 1927 in Atlantic City, New Jersey, worked hard to help his family survive the Great Depression. He enlisted in the United States Navy at the age of 17, to fight in World War II. On the USS Saratoga, Frank was a gunner who several times was confronted with and repelled Japanese kamikaze attacks. After the war, Frank's successful business career include his partnership with golfing superstar Arnold Palmer, a stint as head of the Link Simulator division of Singer Corporation and his role as president of Diner Club franchises, which in 1969 brought Frank and his family from the East Coast to settle in Beverly Hills. Frank later represented major celebrities, including Sugar Ray Robinson, Groucho Marx and Paul Newman and became a successful real estate developer. Frank married the former Jane Divac and together they had three children: Linda, Jack and Robert. Jane passed away in 2007, and Frank married the former Barbara Miller Fox in a joyous ceremony in 2008. Frank will always be remembered for his unbounded energy and unparalleled generosity. The family asks that donations in his memory be made to the Jewish Home of Los Angeles.
