Frank Kern Obituary

Kern, Frank B. MD Beverly Hills Plastic Surgeon
Dr. Frank B. Kern, renowned plastic surgeon, died of natural causes July 13, 2005 at Cedars Sinai Medical Center. He was 63. Dr. Kern was educated at Hobart College where he obtained a B.A. in biology and chemistry and then at the University of Pittsburgh where he obtained his medical degree. Dr. Kern was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served during Vietnam. Dr. Kern had a successful private practice in Beverly Hills, eventually becoming Chief of Staff in Plastic Surgery at CedarsSinai. Frank was an avid scuba diver and sailor. He was also a skilled chef. His famous pork sandwiches were a legend around town. One of his great pleasures was having friends over for dinner and cooking for them. Dr. Kern is survived by his son, Brad, an attorney residing in San Francisco.

Frank's passing has come as a big suprise to me. I am deeply sorry for this loss. Those of us that knew him will remember him as a kind hearted and generous man. He was a great surgeon and was fun to be around.I learned a lot from him in my earlier years of practice.

I would very much appreciate being notified of any memorial service so I may pay my respects.
