Frank MILLER Obituary

MILLER, JR., Frank Robert Mar. 22, 1932-Jan. 30, 2012 Frank Miller died peacefully at Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara. He was born in Los Angeles to Frank and Ruby Miller. After attending Beverly Hills High School he graduated from Claremont Men's College. He served in the US Army, as the S-4 officer, at Camp Gordon. He then attended graduate schools at both UCLA and USC, and landed a job with a "Big 8" accounting firm. In 1963 he married Katharine Eleanor Howard. Shortly thereafter they moved to Santa Barbara where he began his CPA practice, which involved helping non-profits become qualified with the IRS and California as Public Foundations. Frank was a devoted husband to Kathie, his loving wife and partner until her death in 2004. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and family, and touring and showing his old cars. He was a loving father to Frank Robert Miller III (Susie Triolo) and Arthur Howard Miller (Patty Guzzo), and a supportive grandfather to Austin and Blake. He is also survived by his sister Patricia Worden (William) of Pasadena and their sons Ken (Lori) and Jim (Jackie) and their children.
Frank served his community through many organizations including Work Inc., Kiwanis, Mission Archive Library, Braille Institute, Scripps College, Community Arts Music Association, The Foundation Roundtable, and All Saints-by-the-Sea Episcopal Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Cottage Hospital, Scripps College, Braille Institute of Santa Barbara, All Saints by-the-Sea Church or a charity of your choice.

I am very sorry to hear it. I am a professor at Scripps College and always enjoyed hearing his keen opinions during faculty-trustee events.
