Geoffrey Wilson Obituary

August 18, 1959 - May 6, 2022 Geoffrey B Wilson was born August 18, 1959, in Chicago, Illinois, the first of four unendingly adored children of Fay and Don Wilson.
In Geoff's early years, the family of three "traveled the U.S. night club circuit" (Geoff's dad, an entertainer) between New York's Catskill's; Florida's "The Beach" where Geoff's brother Joey was born; Los Angeles, where his sister Linda was born, and The San Francisco Bay Area where Geoff attended Grade and Junior High School and where his youngest brother Todd was born. In 1973 the now family of four moved to Newbury Park (SoCal/Ventura) where Geoff earned his diploma as a 1977 NPHS graduate.
Geoff would go on to make Ventura County his permanent residence, marry his High School Sweetheart, become an "always there for the kids" father of two, and grandfather of three. Geoff's happiest hours of every day were those that he spent with family.
Directly out of high school Geoff apprenticed in "the trades" and shortly became a skilled Cement Contractor. His work throughout the Ventura County Area as a craftsman never went without referrals for excellence and innovation having customized numerous properties of any number of applications from foundations, interior redesign, indoor and outdoor patios, driveways, pools, solar, and city and county sidewalks…Geoff never shied away from hard work.
Geoff was an avid fisherman, spending weeks at a time at sea up and down the Pacific West Coast. Sometimes referred-to as "Geoffrey Do No Wrong" by his most discerning friends who were deep and wide, Geoff enjoyed being the life of the party and was held in the highest of integrity and respect. Geoff would hold court, sharing his quick wit and knowledge on a variety of subjects including strategizing NFL seasons; cultivating, growing, and harvesting flowering herbs and was ever ready to discuss music, a connoisseur, he listened to it all, from rap to folk, r&b, rock, jazz, gospel, and heavy metal. There was no end to his extensive knowledge and collection.
Geoff was an effervescent Full Time Leader with a heart as large as his hulk who had no hidden agenda, a friend to all, always there, no questions asked.
"There are moments in life you will never be ready for!"
In April 2021, Geoff was diagnosed with glioblastoma. He bravely suffered its ravaging and debilitating effects before he went to heaven on Friday, May 6, 2022.
Geoff is survived by his mother, Fay Miller; Father, Don Wilson; siblings; Joey, Linda, and Todd Wilson. His former wife, Lori Potter; their son, Joshua Wilson, and grandchildren; Coral, Gavin, and Donovan Wilson; Nephews, Jonathan and Regin Wilson, and Geoff's sister-in-law, Joei Wilson. Geoff was preceded in death by his son Aaron Nicholas Wilson. (11-14-79 / 05-03-09)

I had the privilege of taking care of Geoffrey during the first stages of his illness until February 2022. I loved him and still love him so much.

He made me laugh, he was a character.

He had so many talents. He was so intelligent and so whitty. He attracted people to him.

Above all, he was a great friend to me.

My condolences to Don, Fay, Joey, Linda and Theo. I love you guys.
