George Jenkins Obituary

July 22, 1942 - May 4, 2025 George Marvin Jenkins passed away peacefully after a short bout with cancer on May 4, 2025, in Santa Monica, CA. He was 82.
He was born in Baton Rouge, grew up in Lafayette, Louisiana. After attending Louisiana State University for 2 years, he graduated from the Wharton School of Economics at the University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. and from the University of California, Berkeley, with an MBA.
He worked in commercial real estate, in sales and development at various corporations: first at Connecticut General, then in Houston, Florida, and Los Angeles where he finished his career by liquidating California Federal Bank's R.E.I.T. portfolio in the 1990s, and helped a private client develop buildings on Santa Monica's 2nd and 4th Streets.
He enjoyed golf, cooking, and entertaining. He was a good old boy with sensitivity, gentleness and kindness. He is survived by his son Craig Jenkins of Florida, daughter Ashley Jenkins of Dallas, brother Jack Jenkins of Houston, sister Jennifer Jenkins of North Carolina, granddaughter Brittney of New York, and a longtime partner of 22 years Eiko Nobel of Brentwood, Los Angeles.
His memorial was private with family.
