Gerald Engel Obituary

August 1, 1937 - December 16, 2015 Gerald Engel was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on August 1, 1937 to the late Rose and Albert Engel. He was the younger brother to Lois. Gerald was called Jerry as a kid. The name would stick throughout his life. Through his teenage years he became a highly skilled chess player, a sports enthusiast, and would later become a Varsity Tennis player at Washington High School, and played the saxophone. He received his B.A at Wisconsin State University. He received his M.A. in Pharmacology at USC. In 1964 he met Edith Stern. They had two Daughters Dawn and Robyn, and two sons Glenn David and Jonathan. Jerry was a pharmacist for over 40 years. He was passionate about tennis, writing, and the Green Bay Packers. He was a writer, a husband, a friend, a father, a competitor, a storyteller, and a terrific grandfather to Jeremy and father-in -law to Faydra. He will be missed. His wife Edith passed away in 1985 and son Glen David in 1988. A tribute to his life will be held at Hillside Mortuary at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, December 27th. I'll miss your humor and chutzpah, Dad. I already do. Despite your life's hardships, most of my memories are of you laughing and/or smiling, and making others do the same. I love you and will do my best to make your memory a blessing.
