Glenn Wong

Glenn Yook Chu Wong, 77, of Gardena, CA, took his final rest on July 24th, 2025. He was born on July 8th, 1948, in Los Angeles, CA as the youngest of five children to Tung Hong Wong and Hung Lou Wong. He was baby brother to Gilbert "Charlie," Bernice (Jack), Betty, and Bonnie (Benton).
After graduating from Manual Arts High School in Los Angeles, he studied and graduated from USC with a Bachelor of Arts in Cinematography. In the early 1970's, Mr. Wong worked as a professional photographer for over two decades. In the early 1990's, he purchased Wah Wing Sang Funeral Home and Evergreen Cemetery and transitioned to a 35-year career as funeral director, using his excellent communication skills in English and Chinese to comfort and serve his many clients. As someone who never wanted to remain idle, he continued working as a property manager even after his "retirement." He also enjoyed giving back to his community through donations as well as hosting carnival events at local schools and churches.
He lovingly brought together an extended circle of family, cherished celebrating life's milestones, giving back to his community, and creating lasting memories. Known as "Grand-Uncle" to his grand-nieces and nephews, he will be deeply missed and remembered.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, August 21st, 2025, from 5pm - 8pm at Gardena Valley Baptist Church, 1630 W 158th St. Gardena, CA 90247. A memorial service will take place on Saturday, August 23rd, 2025, at 11am. Sky Rose Chapel, Rose Hills Memorial Park, 3888 Workman Mill Rd., Whittier, CA 90601.
