Gloria Frankl Obituary
January 17, 1928 - April 6, 2013
Gloria Frankl, M.D. cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and physician. A pioneer in the field of mammography, dedicated to helping women. She joins her beloved daughter Sally and is survived by her husband Hal, children David and Laura, daughter-in-law Mary Blenkush and son-in-law Robert Mosqueda, and grandchildren Joe, Sarah, Gus and Ali as well as sister Lucille Kanstein, nephew Lee Cohen and nieces Fay Douda and Cindy Kanstein. She was a passionate person devoted to family and friends and helping others. World traveler and generous spirit--she brightened our lives, comforted us, inspired us to be our best, and loved us unconditionally. She was strong of intellect, will and (above all) heart. She made the world a better place.
Services will be held at Hillside Memorial Park on Thursday, April 11 at 1:00. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations to honor her memory be made to UC Irvine Program in Geriatrics. Give online at www.som.uci.edu/geriatrics or by mail to UC Irvine Program in Geriatrics, 101 the City Drive South, Bldg 200, Suite 835, Orange, CA 92868. Checks can be made out to the University of California, Irvine. Funds will be used to improve the lives of older adults.

Hal and family ... What a loss to our world. Gloria was such a lovely "lady" in every respect of the word. It was such a pleasure to have known her and there are women that are so very special that the first time you meet them, they meld into your heart ... Gloria was one of those... lee and I just heard of gloria's passing.
she was a lady of intelligence and compassion whom I always admired for her medical ability and humanity in dealig with patients--including my daughter.
she is and shall be missed.
