Gordon was my "boss" and I was his office manager and head legal secretary for 10 years - but - more than that we were friends. Many fond (and funny) memories of office parties in the penthouse at 1299 Ocean Ave. (and elsewhere) for birthdays and holidays. We kept in touch after I moved out of CA (the Northridge quake did it for me!) and he visited me when I lived in Santa Fe, NM. I saw him again in Santa Monica when he was dealing with is illness and visited with his mom, Edith Gitlen, after his death. (Edie and Howard gone now, too.) I miss him and will always remember him.

To Gordon,
"Do not stand at my grave and weep;
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glint on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn's rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry:
I am not there. I do not die."
I awaken each day in disbelief that you are truly gone, but you shall live on in my vivid memories.

Gordon was my greatest love,My Rhett. He was in my heart from the time we met and even though we were separated by distance and time,the space in my heart for him was always there.He was a man to be respected and liked, and will be remembered and missed by many. The twinkle in his eye, will always remain with me, and that same twinkle he will bring with him to heaven. just last week, i awoke to him in my dreams, and tried to find him, though unsuccessfully.I now know why, but in my heart i know where he is, and all i have to do is look at the stars, and the twinkle in his eye will always be there.God bless you Gordon, and God bless your family until you all are united together again.

On one of his trips to Taihiti, Gordon was kind enough to ask me if I wanted anything from there. I said to him that I would love to have some sand for my collection. He laughed and said, "you're kidding" I promptly showed him my collection of the many samples of sand and dirt that friends and others have brought me back from their journeys and I explained that it reminded it me that we are but a grain of dirt in this world from every walk of life. That I found peace and harmony upon looking at the many travels everyone makes and finds more connection to the universe we live in. When he returned from his trip he waited for me to get my wonderfull gift of sand from Tahiti, my sand. I will always hold him very close in my memories. I will continue to pray for his family to bear in this life until they are together once more with God.
