Hazel Gerber Obituary

September 4, 1922 - October 22, 2015 The most beautiful woman in our lives, Hazel Gerber, 93, lovingly known as 'Grannie Darling' left us Thursday morning, October 22, 2015. Hazel and husband Sam Gerber were married for 72 years, currently residing in Palm Springs. Hazel, with Sam always by her side, lived a long, full, beautiful life together. She is survived by her two children: Linda and Jeff; five grandchildren: Tracy, Daniel, Emily, Elisabeth and Jennifer and four great-grandchildren: Aidan, Isla, Sadie and Leo. Hazel was the most vivacious, wonderful person and the glue that kept the whole family together. I hope you were fortunate enough to have known her and thank all who have sent us their wishes. Services for Hazel will be Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Mt. Sinai Mortuary in the large chapel at 12:30. Immediately following the service, you are invited to visit the family at the home of Jeff and Gayle Gerber-1540 Glenville Drive Los Angeles, CA. 90035. Directions will be available at the chapel.

I worked with Hazel for many years at Jewish Family Service. She was a wonderful person, and a great volunteer. When she came in to help in the office I knew things would go well. She will always be remember.

Hazel was a wonderful friend to my parents and I can still remember her smile and kindness to me and my brothers when we would see her. A very sad loss.

I am sorry to hear of Hazel's passing. My Mom, Jean Friedman(who passed last year) was so very fond of both Hazel and Sam. Know that others care.
